The Hong Kong Government

have decided to recall the Indian Police for further

services in Hong Kong. You are warned to inform me

in writing as soon as possible under registered letter

(within one month of the despatch of this letter at

the latest) whether you are willing to return to

service in Hong Kong or not. The terms of service

will be the same as pre War, with the exception

that the basic rates of salary will be slightly higher,

and you will also receive a temporary high cost of

living allowance of at least 50%of your salary, and

a residential allowance of 20% of total emoluments

upto a maximum of 50 per month in lieu of free

rations. Families cannot be taken to Hong Kong yet,

but accommodation may be available in one year's time.

If you are of the age of 45 and under 55 you should

state in writing whether you wish to retire on pension.

Please note that if you are not willing to

return to Hong Kong or do not report to me within

one month, you will be considered as absent from duty

and will be dismissed by me.
